Christmas Show

Kia ora all,

This week is our special Christmas Show at PCS.
We would like to invite all our families to come along and watch us sing and dance to our favourite christmas songs.  We have been working so hard on this.

Room 2 will be performing our Christmas dance with our friends in Room 5.

When: This Wednesday 10th December
Time: 11.45am start please be seated by 11.30am
Where: The school Hall
Bring: A picnic to enjoy with your family after the concert

Costumes: On the day of the show all children are expected to wear their own xmas clothes to school and we have asked if it would be possible for all the children to purchase their own Santa hats from the $2 shop or the Warehouse.  Thank you to those who already have.

(Note: The children who are Hippos in the dance do not need a santa hat, they know who they are.)

We can't wait to see you there.

We love Shapes!!!

Did you know that there are lots of different shapes everywhere!
We have been learning so much about shapes that we might turn into one.

On Friday we had some fun.  We used marshmellows and toothpicks to make different shapes.  Some of us even made 3D shapes.

Look at us carefully creating our shapes

WOW! look at the pyramid and cube.

This is a star.

What clever work we have here.  I really love the star!

Great work at this table!

We were very lucky today our Buddy Class room 25 invited us over to show us their maths games that they made.  We loved it and the year 6 children were so kind and caring to us.

Wow we are clever playing this game!

How cute a big brother and a little brother playing together.

This game was a tricky one!

These Year 6 boys were super kind to us!

Congratulations to Mason who won a prize for the best dressed.  He was ironman for the day.

Here we are in the Parade.  We waved and smiled to the other children.

Kea visit to the Stardome- 5/09/14.

We had an interesting time visiting the Stardome.  We watched a movie of Tycho the dog blasting off into space and seeing the moon and the Earth and the sun. We saw the constellations of stars and saw how they move around in the sky.  Then we had a look at the displays of rockets and astronauts in the foyer.  Finally we found out how we get night and day.   We had a fantastic time learning about space!
Here are some photos of our trip .

Kea trip to the stardome.

Don't forget that the Kea team is going to the Auckland Stardome on Friday 5th September.  We hope we learn all about the stars and planets in the Solar System.

Spring is here! Daffodil day 29 August.

Friday 29 August was Daffodil day and the Keas helped the Cancer Society by donating and wearing mufti to school.  We made some daffodil hats and wore them at a parade in front of the other keas.  We looked fantastic. Here are some pictures of room 2.

It is spring in New Zealand. We can see signs of spring all around us.  We grew some grass seeds and look what happened!  Our faces have super spiky hair now!

Welcome to term 3!

Well, here we are in term 3 2014.  We are already back into our learning and working hard.

The value for this term is Determination and we are learning to keep on going and not to give up.

Miss Best is away for this term and Mrs McFarlane is in room 2.

We have several topics this term to cover- The main one is the Pacific showcase where we will be learning about Samoa and their food and clothes and the songs and dances they perform. We will also be learning some Samoan words. We already say Talofa lava when we greet someone.

At the end of the term the kea team will be performing a song and dance for the parents at a special assembly.

Here are some pictures of room 2 dressed in lavalavas.  All we need is the sunny weather and then it is a great time to wear lavalavas.

Hannah has special clothes to wear to church.
